She's enrolled !!!!

The li'l one is enrolled!! She's now a student of The Deen's Academy in Whitefield....It's a 2 year old school,6 kms from our new house on Whitefield road, follows the CBSE curriculum, and looks a bit more promising than the other schools we've considered. It's a very daunting task, trying to arrive at an appropriate school for your kid. No school gives all that you want.It's always a compromise......academics, extracurricular activities, co curricular activities, values, homework policy, distance from home, fees.......so many factors to consider....and there is nowhere you are satisfied on all fronts. Unless you are talking of the real international schools(where the fee structure is designed to dissuade the common man from even looking at them), it makes sense to list your priorities and then settle for something that's the closest to what you want.
It's been a while now, since she started asking me,"mummy, I want to go to school.." She starts school next June...can't believe it!!But yes, in seven months, she'd be boarding a school bus early in the morning, she'd don a uniform, carry a small bag and ...be part of a place other than home.It's amazing she's gonna be amongst kids her age, and do things she likes.....I'm gonna miss her the four hours she'd be away from home but I have a whole seven months to prepare myself....and maybe time for me to slowly look out of my current world called 'Ananya' and catch up with something ....Not a very 'clingy mother'-friendly idea but gotta accept it.
