Ananya's bedtime prayers

Good night Ganapathi bappa
To you,Let me confess all
Before i enter my world of dreams,
my cozy nights and lovely sleep!!

It was a great day today,
I played and played and played a lot
and mommy played when i played
I played and made a lot of sounds
and mommy stopped and I still played

I smiled and smile when i play
and mommy gets her camera to click me play
I dont like it when she takes my picture
And then i dont smile and i dont play

Mommy then tried to bribe my smile
To hide the camera she goes the extra mile
But i am very smart and she knows that
and she is very patient and i know that!

I finally give her a pose for a click
She gives me lots of hugs for every pic
I then crawl to my place beneath the cradle
with two fingers in my mouth i pretend i'm solving a riddle

Then it is lunch time and mommy wants me to eat all
whether it is rice or oats or baby cereal
It feels very nice to spit my food
but mommy thinks it is not very good

I am good but mommy thinks i need more food
Thats when she gets to see my angry mood
I scream and scream and kick and scream
and i kick and kick till mommy screams

but since i am a good girl, i eat though i scream.
and mommy needs to eat more to match my screams
I always like what mommy and daddy eat,
but they dont give me any of their treat

And then i go for a brief nap
nice babies like me love the nap
and mommy can then log on to the net
Sure she writes about me on her blog, you bet!

And then it's night when daddy comes home
we play and play till he says 'No more!'
Then mommy tells daddy things I have done
With mommy and daddy life's a lot fun

Then it is time to sleep,
and that is when i get to weep
I dont like to go to sleep
But i need to, as that is a promise to keep

So dear Ganpati bappa,
please play with me in my dreams
and bless me and mommy daddy
Together lets make a great team.
